The highlights of Brussels

About this tour

During ‘The highlights’ we’re visiting the most important places in Brussels. We start in the uptown, where the King’s palace is and where Godfrey of Bouillon’s statue oversees the city. Godfrey was the first crusader to conquer Jerusalem in the year 1099. His statue is a symbol, placed there in an attempt to unite Belgium’s French and Dutch speaking cultures during Belgium’s early years.

During this tour we look to get to know Brussels, diving into its history while visiting some of the most beautiful places in the city. Namely, the impressive Neo-Baroque palace of justice and the Grand Place. The latter is the gem of the city. A square surrounded by Baroque guildhalls, a flamboyant Town Hall, and the Neo-Gothic King’s House. This tour is perfect for first-time visitors and people with an interest in broadening their knowledge about the city.
